I have been passionate about and committed to the legal system since an early age. However, it wasn’t until my partner and I decided to start a family through adoption that a real interest in promoting the welfare of vulnerable children through the legal system spurred me on to follow up my childhood ambition to become a lawyer.
I then completed a law Conversion course in 2010, was called to the Bar in 2012 and quickly gained a pupilage and subsequent tenancy in a busy East Midlands Chambers where I was able to build a practice focusing on private and public children law, alongside an interest in civil advisory work.
When the lengthy adoption process came to its conclusion and we adopted two beautiful babies, I chose to step back from Chambers and become the stay-at-home parent. Court commitments and childcare rarely mix! I have, since 2015, been developing a paperwork practice in civil and family law, which enables me to work from home.
A considerable benefit is that I now work from an office at home, keeping down costs for clients with none of the overheads associated with Chambers-based work.
I have an excellent track record for turning around paperwork quickly and efficiently, and can provide client endorsements on request, which reflect the praise I have received from professional and lay clients for the clarity and prompt turnaround of my drafting and advice.
I am Public Access accredited and can therefore accept instructions directly from members of the public.
